Eye Care Education in the Northern Territory

In February 2007, ICEE conducted its first training programme for Northern Territory Aboriginal Eye Health Workers.

The programme attended by eight Eye Health Workers was held in Darwin. Based on an annual course that has been conducted in NSW for the past seven years, the course teaches Eye Health Workers how to perform refraction and diagnose disease.

The NSW course is ran in association with the Aboriginal Health & Medical Research Council, OATSHI and the recently established Aboriginal Health College.
